Man charged under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000
A CPS spokesperson said: “Following a review of the evidence provided by Kent Police, we have authorised a charge against Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, 41, of failing to provide the PIN to his mobile phone under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
“The charge follows Mr Yaxley-Lennon’s arrest in Folkestone on Sunday, 28 July, 2024.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against the defendant are active and that he has the right to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

- He has been charged with wilfully failing to comply with a duty imposed under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000, namely a duty to provide the PIN access code to his mobile phone.
