Man jailed for grudge-fuelled attack which left victim in coma

|News, Violent crime

A man who permanently disabled another in a frenzied assault has been sentenced.

Robert Frasonski, 25, forcefully confronted the victim at his home in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, in the early hours of 16 April 2023 before going on to beat him.

He then filmed himself kicking and stamping on the victim’s head in a prolonged attack whilst he lay unconscious.

The judge described Frasonski as a “monster”.

The victim’s fiancée and her young daughter had to flee the scene and rang the emergency services.

Before his partial recovery, the victim spent a number of months in a state of deep unconsciousness. He was left with life-altering injuries and will need 24-hour nursing care for the rest of his life.

In the face of mounting evidence against him, Frasonski pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The prosecution outlined in court how the victim had confided in his family members that Frasonski had made repeated threats on his life prior to the assault.

On 9 September at Bristol Crown Court, Frasonski was given an extended sentence of 18 years, 13 of which he will spend in custody.

Ruth Sands, a Senior Crown Prosecutor with CPS Wessex, said: “Robert Frasonski clearly felt he had a grudge to settle with his victim.

“He was trained as boxer and knew how to deliver devastating blows that have caused deliberate, severe injuries.

“He even went so far to do such damage in front of his terrified partner and her young child.

“The victim in this case is unlikely to live independently again. Frasonski stole his and his family’s future.

“This outcome underscores the serious consequences of such violent actions. We hope this sentence brings some measure of justice to the victim and his family.”
