Man jailed after violent disorder outside hotel in Aldershot

|News, Violent crime

A man has been sentenced after violent disorder outside a hotel which houses asylum seekers in Aldershot, Hampshire.

Perrie Fisher, 28, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court today to 29 months' imprisonment for his involvement in the disorder outside the Potters International Hotel on Wednesday 31 July.

He was sentenced to a further one month in custody for failing to attend the first hearing on 13 August 2024.

Fisher has received the longest sentence passed within the Wessex region.

Sophie Stevens, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor with CPS Wessex, said: “Fisher’s part in the violent disorder seen in Aldershot has not only endangered vulnerable individuals but has also disrupted the peace and security of our communities.

“Today’s sentence underscores the severity of his actions and should serve as a deterrent to those who may consider engaging in such unlawful behaviour.

“We hope that this outcome provides some reassurance to our communities that such acts will not be tolerated.

“The CPS will continue to work tirelessly alongside our criminal justice partners to bring those who threaten the safety and well-being of our society to justice.”
