A manipulative woman obsessed with serial killers has been jailed for life for stabbing her on-off boyfriend to death in her bedroom.

Killer Shaye Groves, 26, created a web of lies in a bid to get away with the murder of 25-year-old Frankie Fitzgerald.

Three men have been convicted of murdering a 30-year-old man in a case of mistaken identity.

Ben Dawber, 19, Kane Adamson, 19, and Joshua Prescott, 20, murdered Thomas Williamson and attempted to rob a different man in September 2021.

Dawber, Adamson and Prescott had been driving around Atherton and Tyldesley on the evening of 24 September 2021.  

At around 00.50am on 25 September, Dawber and Adamson attempted to rob a man on Stanley Street in Atherton.

Eight men have been jailed for life following the kidnap and brutal murder of a man they wrongly suspected of attacking a woman.

After a three-month trial, the jury found Khalil Awla, 48, Erion Voja, 21, Razgar Mohammed, 40, Alan Jaf, 52, Dean O’Neill-Davey, 30, Erland Spahiu, 34, and Martin Smith, 38, guilty of kidnapping and murdering Christopher Hughes in February last year.

Curtis Balbas, 30, had previously pleaded guilty to kidnapping Mr Hughes and admitted the murder after the prosecution case had concluded at trial.
