A former Greater Manchester police officer has been found guilty of sexual offices against a child who just 12 when the abuse started.

Stephen Hardy, 45, formally a detective from the Mottram area, pleaded not guilty to a total of 20 charges including rape, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity between December 2012 and June 2020.

Hardy denied that there had been any sexual contact between him and the child and pleaded not guilty to all the charges. 

A Metropolitan Police sergeant has been sentenced to two years in prison after sexually assaulting a woman in the sea off Brighton seafront on his stag night.

Laurence Knight, 34, had been with his friends celebrating his stag do in July 2021. The group had been staying in an AirBnB and were visited by strippers earlier in the evening, before heading out to town to go to some bars and continue with the celebration.

A 39-year-old man has been jailed for 18 years for raping a woman in her own home whilst awaiting trial for child sexual abuse offences.

Michael Levy, from Bamber Bridge, contacted the woman on Facebook in November 2022 and after exchanging messages they met up in January 2023.

An unemployed man from Bestwood in Nottingham has been jailed for life for raping a schoolgirl close to her home in January 2023.

Shane Nash, 39, followed and attacked the victim after she had accompanied her friend to the bus stop. He approached her from behind and dragged her to nearby undergrowth. He covered her mouth and bound her hands with tape before making several attempts to rape her. He threatened to stab her if she was not quiet.
