A man who shouted at police officers and chanted to a mob at the Holiday Inn Rotherham has  been sentenced after pleading guilty to violent disorder.

He was jailed for two years and eight months and a ten year criminal behaviour order was imposed.

Jonathan Storer, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Yorkshire and Humberside said: "This week many more offenders are being sentenced for their part in the disorder at the Holiday Inn at Rotherham. This will continue as we work quickly, alongside our partners in the criminal justice system, to bring these people to justice.

“The sentence passed today clearly emphasises that this sort of offending will not be tolerated in our communities.”
