Please could you provide me with the data for the number of prosecutions commenced in 2022 which have an element of conspiracy in the offence.
Response
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) does hold some limited recorded data regarding your request, namely the number of offences (rather than defendants) charged by way of Section 1 and Section 1A of the Criminal Law Act 1977 and reaching a first hearing in magistrates’ courts in 2022.
Please find attached an Excel spreadsheet labelled FoI 11345 DATA and the caveats appended to that table should be noted when considering the data disclosed.
