Two men have been convicted of killing a footballer who died after being stabbed while on a dancefloor at a nightclub on Boxing Day 2022.

Remy Gordon, 23, of Cofton Park Drive and along with Kami Carpenter, 22, of Kings Norton, were convicted today (25 March, 2024) of the murder of Cody Fisher following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court. 

A third defendant, Reegan Anderson, 19, was found not guilty of murder but guilty of affray. The three defendants will be sentenced at a later date.

A man from Leicester has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Natasha Morais in her own home in Leicester after being convicted by a jury. 

He also was sentenced for possessing a sawn off shotgun unconnected to the murder, which was recovered at the scene.  

Shannon Grant, 27, strangled Ms Morais whilst staying at her flat. Before her murder she had impaired mobility and had been involved in a serious car accident. The defendant had befriended her since the accident. 

A violent and hostile gang of people who gathered outside the Suites hotel in Knowsley in February 2023 have been sentenced.

Four people who were convicted following a trial at Liverpool Crown Court in January 2024 were part of a larger group who threw missiles and paving slabs at police and set fire to a police van on Ribblers Lane in Kirkby on 10 February 2023.

Two men have been found guilty of killing a stranger with one punch in Preston.

Jake Parkinson, 22, was convicted of manslaughter following a trial at Preston Crown Court.

Jak Fairclough, 29, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at an earlier hearing.

The actions of Parkinson and Fairclough led to the death of 25-year-old Jack Jermy-Doyle.

The pair were out in Preston with a group on the evening of 11 August 2022.

Westminster magistrates today ordered the extradition to Italy of a British man suspected of murdering his partner there.

Michael Whitbread is wanted by the Italian government for prosecution on a charge of murdering his partner, British national Michele Faiers, who was found stabbed to death at their home near the Italian town of Casoli. It is alleged she was killed on 28 October 2023.
