Festival worker sentenced for indecent photographs and offering drugs to a security officer

|News, Sexual offences , Drug offences

A food stall worker at the Init Together festival has been sentenced at Swansea Crown Court after he tried to sell drugs to a security officer.

Adam Bell, 19, was at the festival in Margam Park on 24 May 2024 when he approached the plain clothed security officer and offered to sell him “ket”. Police officers were informed and following Bell’s arrest bags of white powder and scales were found in his tent.

An examination of Bell’s phone also showed that he had indecent photographs of children, some of which had been shared. A total of 146 category A images, the most serious category, were recovered. There were also 63 category B and 75 category C images discovered on the phone.

The phone also contained a voyeuristic video of young female, taken by Bell from underneath her skirt which the victim was unaware of.

Jonathan Pritchard of the CPS said: “There was compelling evidence to prove that Bell intended to use the festival to supply unlawful drugs, and his mobile phone demonstrated he had downloaded and shared indecent images of children.

“Working with the police, the CPS built the case on this strong evidence which resulted in guilty pleas to multiple offences.

“Bell has now been sentenced for these crimes which includes orders designed to protect the public.”

Adam Bell was sentenced on 16 August 2024 to two years and three months in a Young Offenders Institute, which included a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and notification requirement for 10 years.
