BETTER CASE MANAGEMENT

For any case sent to Crown Court after 25 January 2016, we will be preparing cases in accordance with the amended CPRs and Criminal Proactive Direction. We will be sending the Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH) Form and draft indictment to the Crown Court seven days before the hearing. If we have your secure CJSM account details we will send these to you at the same time.

The Crown Court expects that you will return the competed PTPH form to them and the CPS at least two days before the hearing.

For cases sent to Crown Court after 25 January 2016, we will be uploading the PTPH form and the draft indictment to the Crown Court Digital Case System (DCS). The court will be uploading the digital case material to the case. You will need to register on the system to have access to the materials. You will need register at:

https://crowncourtdcs.caselines.co.uk/

Once registered, you will need to contact the Crown Court to be invited to the case. For any advocate instructed on your client's behalf, you will need to invite them to the case in good time for the hearing.

The Crown Court expects that you will complete the PTPH form by downloading it, completing it and uploading it again to the PTPH form section in the 'update case' section of the case at least two days before the hearing. In due course, there will be an editing facility on the system.

The contact details of the reviewing lawyer and paralegal officer will be on the PTPH form.
