CPS South West

The Crown Prosecution Service is an independent Government organisation set up in 1986 to prosecute criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales.

CPS South West is headed by Chief Crown Prosecutor Chris Long and covers the police force areas of Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, and Devon and Cornwall. We employ approximately 219 staff and have offices in Bristol, Exeter and Truro. We prosecute around 31,000 cases each year at six Crown Courts and 13 magistrates' courts across the region.
