Counsel Fees Manual of Guidance - Very High Cost Cases
The Very High Cost Case (VHCC) fee scheme has been developed by the CPS, working with the Legal Services Commission and the Bar Council, to ensure that the work undertaken by counsel in the preparation and presentation of cases in the Crown Court, Higher Court and at the advice stage is actively managed by the reviewing lawyer, and expenditure in the most complex, serious and expensive cases is subject to proper audit.
