Help us to improve how we explain our work on domestic abuse
As part of our work on the domestic abuse programme we aim to put our people at the heart of everything we do by providing guidance to improve casework quality and standards and to build public confidence through delivering services that are fair and understood by all communities.
To meet this aim we have produced two documents:
1. Domestic Abuse Legal Guidance
This updated legal guidance reflects how we prosecute domestic abuse cases, providing practical and streamlined guidance for prosecutors, highlighting where legislation has been amended and incorporating recent case law. As well as providing guidance regarding myths and stereotypes in domestic abuse cases.
It is available as a webpage and as a downloadable PDF in English.
2. Domestic Abuse Policy Statement
This sets out how we approach our responsibilities in domestic abuse cases, our ambitions to secure justice in every possible domestic abuse case and improve the outcomes for victims.
We expect that this statement will be of most interest to those who work within and alongside the criminal justice system – for example support services who work with victims of domestic abuse, but it may also be of interest to victims, supporters and the wider public.
It is available as a webpage and as a downloadable PDF in English and Welsh.
