People at the CPS
The Crown Prosecution Service employs around 8,000 people throughout England and Wales. These people are employed in three main areas of work:
- Prosecutors; experienced barristers and lawyers who are responsible for prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the Crown.
- Paralegals; assist prosecutors preparing cases for court.
- Administrators; support the work of the Crown Prosecutors with financial, managerial and information technology support.
